Schoolchildren from around the region invited to enjoy narure films
Location: Punkaharju, Art Centre Retretti
With two local cooperative banks, we are giving schoolchildren from around the region the chance to enjoy nature films on the big screen.
We are offering hundreds of elementary school pupils (aged ca. 8 to 12 years) a fun way to start off the new school term: we will hold free special screenings of two films in the concert hall of the Retretti art centre. In addition to this, the children can enjoy further events organized on the same day in cooperation with the Finnish Forest Museum (Lusto), the district Association for Nature Conservation, and Retretti.

Charity gala
Location: Savonlinna
Proceeds from the admissions and other sources will be donated to the WWF, which passes the funds on to the protection of the Saimaa ringed seal. The gala will feature an auction of nature-related works of art. Donors include Mr Pertti Salolainen, a long-time memberof the Finnish Parliament

We will set up exhibitions of nature photography in the neighbourhood and show further nature documentaries in other locations. A list of these events and locations will be published in July.
Among the highlights will be award-winning documentaries from the Wildlife Vaasa nature film festival, which is the longest-standing event of its kind in Finland (since 2002).
